Browser

A browser is a software program that allows the user to view Web pages on the Internet. Web pages are actually written in HTML (HyperText Markup Language), providing a set of written directions as to how the page should be laid out, including specifications for font sizes, colors, boldface and underline, where images should be placed, etc. The browser takes these directions and displays the Web page.

Among the most popular browsers are Apple's Safari, Konqueror, Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and the Netscape Browser.
