| If I put computers in a corner of my room, they will distract the other students. |
| Generally, once the novelty wears off, students ignore computers. Keep the sound turned to a minimum, or you might have students use headphones for any programs with sound. Set the expectation that those students who are not working on the computer are to focus on their own work, and then treat it like any other expectation you set for your classroom.

| I don't have a lot of room in my classroom for my students' desks let alone computers.

Space can surely present a challenge in many of today's classrooms. Take a good look at how you are currently using space. How much space is allotted for the teacher's desk and related furniture? In most classrooms, the greatest amount of space is occupied by the teacher's "area." Consider moving your desk against a wall or "downsizing" the amount of space you use. Another option is to replace student desks with round tables (42" is a good size). You'll find that round tables take up less space than rectangular desks and, they foster greater collaboration than do chairs with the attached arm-desk.
